Lampasas has a host of higher educational facilities within easy driving distance. These include universities offering a complete educational experience as well others who offer two year degree plans. Educational opportunities abound across the spectrum from health to trades. Lampasas also has two excellent local school systems, Lampasas I.S.D. and Lometa I.S.D. as well as the Lampasas County Higher Education Center.

Lampasas County Higher Education Center
At the Lampasas County Higher Education Center (LCHEC), we believe that all Texans should have access to affordable, quality education beyond high school. That’s why we continually pursue strategic partnerships that strengthen LCHEC’s programs and benefit our students and community. By aligning with a strong network of nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and education partners, LCHEC is able to provide the residents of Lampasas County and surrounding rural counties with opportunities for career training, community education, and higher education.

Students at LCHEC can prepare for a career in allied health through our stand-alone certificate programs, pursue an associate’s degree through Central Texas College or William Penn University College for Working Adults, and learn new skills through our community education classes. LCHEC offers several scholarships for those who qualify. Service members (including guard and reserve units), veterans, and military spouses can use military educational benefits (i.e., MyCAA, GI Bill) toward tuition for allied health programs. High school students (in 11th or 12th grade) and those in GED programs are also eligible for a 50 percent discount for all allied health courses.

LCHEC is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission, Career Schools and Colleges.
